Nuclear Reaction in Solid. Recent Progress at Osaka University
Abstract 1) Coherent Deuteron Fusion in Solid: Significant generation of He-4 without neutron emission was observed by closed D2O/Pd electrolysis. Mass three charged particles with 4.8MeV were detected by low energy D+ beam implantation into PdDx, and 19MeV protons were detected by H+ beam. The theory of coherent deuteron fusion, especially multibody (D+D+D , D+D+D+D and H+D+D) fusions can explain consistently these unusual results. 2) Production of Non-Radioactive Isotopes by Selective Channel Photo-Fission of Pd: Transmutation or fission-like foreign elements without hard radiations have been observed by Mizuno, Miley, Iwamura, Bockris, and so on. To explain these anomalous results, theory of low-energy photo-fission via selective channels of lowest fission barrier band of nuclei of A>90 was proposed. Mass- and Z-distributions of FPs by the theory have agreed quite well with experiments, and non-natural isotopic ratios of foreign elements were explained consistently.
