The new DAFNE-Light Laboratory
Abstract
DAFNE-Light is the new Frascati Synchrotron Radiation
facility exploiting the intense photon beams emitted by DAFNE, the storage
ring working with over 1 A of current.
Since the end of 2001 three beamlines have been commissioned.
The Infra Red line is fully operational by a brilliant SR beam in the whole
IR domain. The Ultra Violet line is also operational and dedicated to photobiology
in the frame of the Solar Ultraviolet Effects (Gruppo V) experiment. On the
soft X-ray line, preliminary experiments are in progress for characterizing
the photon beam and testing the double crystal monochromator performance
in the energy range up to 6 keV.
The state-of-the-art of the laboratory and of the beamlines
will be reported. Preliminary scientific results obtained in the IR and UV
spectral regions and first experiments performed in the soft X-ray range
will be outlined.
